APAV appeals for support to help victims of crimes in Portugal – Portugal Resident
APAV, the Portuguese Association for Victim Support, is calling for help to continue assisting victims of crime and violence across Portugal.
The non-governmental organisation said it has supported over 400,000 victims since it was founded in 1990, providing emotional, social and legal assistance free of charge.
In an appeal directed at international residents living in Portugal, APAV said many foreigners remain unaware that support services are available to them, often because of language barriers or unfamiliarity with local resources.

According to the organisation, assistance is available to all victims regardless of nationality.
However, donations are needed to help maintain its services, which the organisation says remain essential for victims seeking protection, guidance and support after experiencing crime or violence.
The organisation’s victim support helpline can be reached on 116 006 on working days between 8am and 11pm.
Meanwhile, donations can be made through MBWay (967 116 952) or bank transfer (IBAN: PT50 0036 0000 9910 5902 8033 7).
