Celebrity chefs team up for one-night Algarve dining event – Portugal Resident
Two well-known chefs are joining forces for a one-night-only dining event in the Algarve, promising a menu that mixes local flavours with modern fine dining.
Chef Chakall and chef Nuno Bergonse will host a special “four-hands” dinner on Friday, June 12 at Fuel, the signature restaurant inside Monte Gordo’s The Prime Energize Hotel Algarve.
The event, called “No Ordinary Dinner”, will begin at 8.30pm and aims to offer a more refined alternative to the traditional Santo António celebrations usually associated with grilled sardines and street parties.
Organisers say the evening will bring together two distinct cooking styles in a creative menu designed around Algarve ingredients and contemporary techniques.
The dinner starts with dishes including clam xarém (porridge) with black pork chouriço and samphire, alongside octopus and prawn ceviche served with Sardinian bread.
The seafood course will be tuna tartare with almonds and fig cheese, while the meat course features black pork “alambre” with whisky sauce and domino potatoes.
Desserts will focus on regional flavours, including chocolate cream with Algarve orange and a mini peanut and dulce de leche duo finished with fleur du sel.
The dinner costs €60 per person, with drinks not included.
Apart from working at some of Portugal’s top restaurants, both chefs have become famous in Portugal for appearing on television. Argentine chef Chakall has a long list of TV appearances, while Nuno Bergonse became a household name as one of the judges of Masterchef Portugal.
