German schnitzel celebrated with special menu at Vila Vita Biergarten – Portugal Resident
Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches, Lagoa is putting the spotlight on one of Germany’s best-known dishes with a special menu dedicated to schnitzel.
“Schnitzel Mania” event runs until May 31 and is available for lunch from 12.30pm, bringing together seven different versions of the traditional dish, each inspired by German culinary heritage but “reinvented with creativity and sophistication that set Vila Vita Parc apart”.
The restaurant describes the initiative as a tribute to a meal that has been part of German dining culture for generations.
Among the highlights is the Wiener Schnitzel XXL (€52), a large 600g veal schnitzel served with potato salad and cranberry compote, inspired by the Viennese original.
Other options include the Paprikaschnitzel (€25), served with tomato and pepper sauce and herb spätzle; and the Jägerschnitzel (€18), made with pork and a creamy mushroom sauce with sautéed potatoes.
The Schnitzel Holstein (€24) features a fried egg, anchovies, capers, salad and potatoes, while the Hähnchenschnitzel (€17) offers a lighter chicken version with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes.
For cheese lovers, the Käseschnitzel (€23) comes topped with melted cheese, served with green salad and fries. A vegetarian option, the Auberginenschnitzel (€14), replaces meat with breaded aubergine served with potato salad.
The menu also includes beer pairings, designed to complement the flavours and crisp texture of each dish.
