David Guetta brings world tour to Lisbon for 40,000-capacity show – Portugal Resident

French superstar DJ and producer David Guetta is set to perform before an estimated 40,000 fans in Lisbon tonight as his The Monolith Tour arrives in Portugal.

The concert takes place at Parque Papa Francisco, on the border between Lisbon and Loures, the same riverside venue that hosted the last two editions of Rock in Rio Lisboa.

Organisers describe The Monolith Tour as Guetta’s “most ambitious” live production to date, with gates opening at 6pm ahead of a full evening of electronic music.

The entertainment begins with Portuguese DJ Tiago Cruz (6.10pm-7.15pm), followed by Maesic (7.15pm-8.15pm) and Layla Benitez (8.15pm-9.15pm). Guetta is scheduled to take to the stage at 9.30pm, with his set expected to run until 11pm. The venue will close at midnight.

Now 58, Guetta has remained one of the world’s most influential electronic music artists for more than two decades. Having started his career as a DJ in 1984, he has helped bring dance music into the mainstream through collaborations with some of the biggest names in pop, including Usher, Sia, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Kelly Rowland, Kid Cudi and the Black Eyed Peas.

The French producer has consistently ranked among the world’s leading DJs and continues to headline major festivals and arenas around the globe.

Tonight’s Lisbon performance is expected to attract fans from across Portugal and abroad, making it one of the capital’s biggest live music events of the summer.
