Strawberry Moon Party raises €1,470 for StreetLife dog sterilisation programme – Portugal Resident
StreetLife, an animal welfare association operating in the Eastern Algarve, has raised €1,470 for its Dog Sterilisation Programme following its annual Strawberry Moon Party, held at Barbacoa Restaurant in Loulé.
Guests enjoyed a welcome drink, dinner and live music from The Outsiders, with proceeds from the evening going towards the charity’s ongoing work to reduce the number of unwanted dogs in the region.
Based in Moncarapacho and run entirely by volunteers, StreetLife has funded more than 1,800 dog sterilisations across the Eastern Algarve since 2017. Working with local communities and partner veterinary clinics, the programme aims to prevent unwanted litters before they are born, helping to reduce the number of dogs that may otherwise end up abandoned or without homes.

StreetLife thanked everyone who attended the event, saying the continued support of the local community makes its work possible.
The charity also expressed its gratitude to Barbacoa Restaurant, Eddie Tittensor – Golf Pro Swing Analysis, Monterosa Olive Oil, the Octant Hotel Group and Prime Wine for donating prizes and vouchers. Special thanks were extended to the Barbacoa team for hosting the evening and helping to make guests feel welcome.
StreetLife is encouraging supporters to become a StreetBuddy, its monthly giving programme. For €5 per month, members help fund year-round sterilisation work and support the charity’s mission to improve the welfare of dogs across the Eastern Algarve.

The charity has also announced that its 9th Anniversary Party will take place on Tuesday, September 1, with further details to be released soon.
