Cyberattack disrupts CCDR Algarve services – Portugal Resident
The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve) has been hit by a cyberattack that has left several of its digital services temporarily unavailable, including its institutional email system.
According to the CCDR Algarve, the attack took place over the weekend, during the night from Saturday to Sunday. The organisation said it activated its internal incident response protocols as soon as it detected unauthorised external access to its systems.
It has since notified the relevant authorities and implemented measures to identify the source of the attack, contain the incident and minimise any potential impact.
As a result of the cyberattack, some services remain unavailable, most notably institutional email communications, which may affect contact with the organisation until systems are fully restored.
The situation is being monitored by the competent authorities, the CCDR Algarve’s IT department and specialist technical support teams working to restore services as quickly as possible.
The organisation apologised for any inconvenience caused to citizens and partner organisations and said it would provide further updates as soon as there were significant developments.
