New rescue vehicles rolled out in Portimão for summer – Portugal Resident
The delivery, carried out under the SEAWATCH project, will significantly boost surveillance, prevention and rescue capacity along the Algarve coastline and other key bathing areas nationwide.
The fleet includes 30 Volkswagen Amarok pickup trucks and two fully electric ID. Buzz vehicles, which will be deployed across mainland and island captaincies to support lifeguard teams throughout the summer months.

The ceremony took place on Friday, May 29, marking the renewal of a long-standing partnership between ISN and SIVA|PHS, the official representative of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Portugal.
The new vehicles are equipped with essential lifesaving gear, including rescue boards, stretchers, emergency lighting, automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other basic life support equipment.
They will be used primarily to reinforce surveillance in unguarded or hard-to-reach beaches, improving response times and operational coverage during peak tourist season.
